NAUTILUS SIDEBAR

I have always found Gnome's Nautilus ugly. Even when applying different themes, it never quite looks right. Most of it is due to awkward spacing and layouts.

I've tried to make up for this by adjusting the background colour, list spacing and side padding in my gtk theme. I have also altered the icons in the icon theme folder to make it look more modern and appealing. The icons are a mixture from various sources as well as my own.

FIRST POST!

This is the first post to my first blog.

Its primarily going to be about my messing around with customizing linux (ubuntu), hopefully sharing what I make, things I learn, things I find etc with those of you who are also interested in themes, icons and customizing.

So to start off, I'll post something I've been working on today. For a while Ive wanted an 'Ikea dock' as seen on some apple screenshots. Unfortunately Ive failed a couple of times to reproduce something similar in Avant-window-navigator without it looking tacky. Today however I think I've finally got it. Took a while to get the right colour of wood.

The icons are from various people on deviantart.com, I'm afraid I cant remember them all.
